Of course the best way to make money is with a proper Set Show
But if you are a beginner who needs money now, and you don't have a Set Show, and you don't have a clue how to write one, you can get paid while you learn with a Rotation Show.
If you're already a Professional, and you want to write a new show, but you can't afford to take time off, why not get paid to write a new one with a Rotation Show?
Or if you are just stuck in a small town with very few walkers, The Rotation Show, could be the very answer to your problem.
What am I talking about?
What the heck is a Rotation Show?
The Rotation Show is the show that never ends.
It is a strategy originally built for a pitch with very few walkers, but the wise busker sees its other advantages.
The beginner will find out immediately how difficult it is to build a crowd on a slow pitch, and how great it would be if there was already a crowd waiting for him after he completed his last show.
Here's how it works.
You do a routine and when you're done, you tell the people,
"If you're waiting for the end of the show it ain't coming, I do this all day long over and over if you liked anything you saw please put some money in the bucket on the ground."
Then you do a different routine, and at the end of that routine, you say it again,
"If your waiting for the end of the show it ain’t coming..."
You do this at the end of every routine all day long.
When you're done for the day, end with a proper Hat Routine and that's a rap.
This leaves you with a perpetual crowd all day.
The crowd will "Rotate" as you repeat routines, the spectators who already saw those routines will peel away, but the new people who have not seen you, will walk up to watch.
The beauty of this of course, is that you are getting paid to practice and write your new show.
Also it gets your routines tighter, teaches you which ones have the strongest impact, and what order they should go in, to create your new show.
But best of all, it's a great way to keep a perpetual crowd going all day long on a slow pitch and make money.
Some buskers call this type of show, A Walk And Pitch, or a Trickle Show, because the people trickle by, watch a little, pitch money, and then they leave.
This is not the strongest method of busking by any means. But I think it's a great way to make money while you practice and it will take away from the monotony of doing your same show over and over.
So be warned, this is more for your Art, or show construction, and not for making the real big money. That’s what The Set Show is for.
If you are a Pro and you do this strategy on a good spot, you can risk losing money, but it could pay off in the end by improving your show and breaking up the monotony.
One last thing worth noting, the rotation show pays you to get more Stage Time.
Stage Time is what makes you great. The more time you get to perform in front of people the better you get.
Well I hope this helps.

Jimmy, with a rotation show, do you work any audience participation into a routine or is it just routines that only rely on the performer?
